Ryan Winters, a Hanford Drama alumnus, is setting up a new memorial scholarship for technical theater for Hanford High students. Ryan Winters was an excellent stage manager for Hanford Drama and has since become a doctor. He is naming the scholarship after the wife of Eric Richman. Current students will recognize Eric as an amazing friend and technical guru for Hanford Drama. He was the one who wired up Joseph’s coat so that it only took one switch. Mr. Richman also provided the radio equipment for The Man Who Came to Dinner. His wife, Ruth Richman, often appeared at set construction in the 1990’s and early 2000’s with a warm smile, funny stories and plates of incredible chocolate chip cookies (which have never been duplicated). She was a lovely, caring, hysterically funny, welcoming woman. Many Hanford students from that era remember her fondly.
Ryan Winters has established a memorial scholarship for students who have been active in technical theater. Please read his personal letter on the HHS Drama Booster page of this site.
