Hanford’s great productions don’t just happen. They are the result of an incredible amount of work and creativity on the part of our students, directors and volunteers. That’s where the Drama Boosters come in.  Parents and other friends of Hanford High School drama support the program by volunteering time and skills. Please join us in supporting our students in this great endeavor. Here are some of the ways you can help. Contact the drama boosters to get involved: hhsdramaboosters@gmail.com

Committee chairs: We have many How-To pages available for guidance. The booster officers can get this information to you, just contact an officer for more information.

  • Sets: You’ve probably noticed the amazing sets we have each year. These come together through the hard work of a lot of parents and students. Set construction happens on Saturdays. You do not need to be a Norwegian cabinet maker to help with set construction; there are projects for all skill levels. Please join us for a couple of set construction Saturdays.

    • Paint
    • Clean & organize
    • Lunch management
  • Costumes: We don’t buy them; we make them ourselves. If sewing is your thing, please volunteer to sew a costume or two (or more). All levels of skill are welcome! We need lots of hand-stitching and various crafting skills.

    • Cut fabric pieces
    • Iron
    • Hand-stitch & finishing touches
    • Glue gun management
  • Publicity: We need help in getting the word out about each show. We do this by distributing signs and posters, advertising on radio and in the newspaper. But we also need to capitalize on social media to spread the word, like Facebook & Twitter.
    • Coordinate poster distribution
    • Plant yard signs for the musical
    • Contact media outlets
  • Ticket sales: We need volunteers to sell tickets before the productions and on the evening of each performance.
  • Concessions: We raise money and keep our patrons happy with great concessions at the performances.
    • Volunteer to help during a performance
    • Donations of packaged theatre snacks, water, chips, etc. are always welcome.
  • VIP Lounge: Our alumni parents host a VIP lounge dessert during the winter musical. If you are an alumni parent and would like to help with this project, contact the boosters and they’ll pass your name along to this year’s coordinators.
