2016 5th Avenue Awards

The Hanford High School production of Urinetown has received seven nominations in the 2016 Seattle 5th Avenue High School Musical Theater Awards includingOutstanding Overall Musical. In addition, Hanford High’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid received two nominations. Senior Zachary Harper earned aSpecial Honors Student Achievement award.

Judges evaluated 104 productions at 95 high schools around the state. The winners will be announced at the 5th Avenue Awards ceremony June 6 in Seattle.

Urinetown has been nominated for the following awards:Hanford_Urinetown1of10

  1. Outstanding Overall Musical – the cast will perform at the ceremony
  2. Outstanding Music Direction
  3. Outstanding Choreography
  4. Outstanding Orchestra
  5. Outstanding Lighting Design
  6. Outstanding Lead Actor – Devin Duggan – Devin will sing a solo at the ceremony
  7. Outstanding Ensemble Group – The Rebels

Honorable Mentions: Outstanding Direction; Outstanding Actor in a Featured Ensemble Role – Vance Alexander; Outstanding Performance by an Chorus;

Disney’s The Little Mermaid has been nominated for the following awards:Hanford_Mermaid2of9

  1. Outstanding Hair and Makeup Design
  2. Outstanding Stage Crew

Honorable Mention: Outstanding Ensemble Group – The Sea

Special Honors, Student Achievement – Zachary Harper
