In May, actors bring to life The Three Musketeers, the story of a man who leaves home to join the Parisian Musketeers of the Guard. He meets three musketeers who change his life, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. “All for one, one for all” is the battle cry as they work to save Queen Anne from the schemes of the nefarious Milady who works for Cardinal Richelieu.
Hanford High has offered sword fighting in its advanced theater classes for several years. With the arrival of Anna Newbury, a certified combatant choreographer, Hanford High has strived to offer at least one show each year for students to learn and perform theatre fight-scenes. Last year’s production of Robin Hood contained numerous sword fights between two to four characters. This year the skills have been refined and fights in The Three Musketeers contain up to 15 combatants!
Audiences will be amazed at the “Daring Do” as the musketeers and the Cardinal’s guards battle it out.
Performances of The Three Musketeers are at Hanford High on May 8, 9, 15, 16 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, $10 for adults.
