What:   Our field trip to the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle to attend the 5th Ave High School Musical Theater Awards.

Who:     All who have signed up and paid. YOU MUST FILL OUT FAMILY ID prior to going.

When:   See the itinerary attending this info.

Where:  Meet out front of the auditorium to board the bus.   Pick a bus and stay on that bus.

Be sure to bring everything you will need for the day.  This may include:

-Costume. Be sure to return your costume to HHS (Seniors!)  This is only for those performing in the opening all school number.  Everyone else, the dress code is semi-formal. Look nice, but no prom dresses.

-Money for food, both lunch and dinner, Snacks for the bus,

-Blanket and pillows for the bus

-Homework

-Rain Gear?  Ear Plugs

Tickets will be handed out at the Benaroya Theater where the ceremony will happen.  Tickets are for assigned seats.  Those of you who are part of a nomination, will sit on the main floor.  Most likely, the others will sit in the balcony.

EVERYONE MUST behave well. No traveling alone.  Be on time.  Forget nothing. Leave all negative comments about other schools for the bus. We call this bus talk.  Take care of yourself.  No one gets sick. Make us proud to be a part of Hanford Drama.

The Hanford High School production of South Pacific received six nominations and the school’s production of Seussical received two nominations in the 2017 Seattle 5th Avenue High School Musical Theater Awards.

South Pacific has been nominated for the following awards:

  1. Outstanding Direction: Matt Leggett
  2. Outstanding Musical Direction: James Jones, Kelly Brown
  3. Outstanding Orchestra: Kevin Swisher
  4. Outstanding Chorus: Matt Leggett, Kelsey Wehner, Shane Morrow, Eric Johnson
  5. Outstanding Actor in a Featured Ensemble Role: Trevyn Wong
  6. Outstanding Actress in a Non-Singing Role: Kanako Kawabe

Seussical has been nominated for the following awards:

  1. Outstanding Scenic Design: Dave Neumayer, John Veysey, Keith Howard
  2. Outstanding Make Up and Hair Design: Aubrey Grey

Also at the June 12 event, Dave Neumayer, a longtime HHS drama volunteer, will receive the Outstanding Parent Support Award; and Seussical will receive a Special Honor for Educational Impact.
